Care instructions for Jonathan Adler products

In order to enjoy your Jonathan Adler favorites for a long time, we have compiled the most important care instructions from Jonathan Adler for you on this page:

From the fanciest sofa to the smallest pot, we recommend consulting the individual product care cards or product pages for specific information. Below are general guidelines for our numerous offers.

CERAMICS
Each prototype begins its journey in our studio in Soho, where Jonathan and his team design the original model in clay and hand-sculpting. Due to its handmade nature, there will be slight deviations and imperfections. We think that contributes to the fascination.

DINNER AND SERVER GOODS
Rinse immediately after use to avoid scratches and stains.
From our Vice Canisters to our sculptural cups and tea services to our special occasion tableware, our ceramic parts are dishwasher safe. Items with metallic accents are dishwasher safe for up to 500 washes. However, hand washing will extend the life of your plates.
To extend the life of your parts, use a protective cloth or pad when storing or stacking.
Do not use pieces with metal accents in the microwave.

CERAMICS
For unglazed porcelain ceramics: clean stains with soap and water or make a paste with baking soda for thorough cleaning. Use only a soft, non-abrasive cloth, as sponges can penetrate the ceramic surface. Minor signs of wear can be removed with a Magic Eraser. Parts are also dishwasher safe.
For items with a clear, colored or metallic glaze: Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wash by hand or only clean selectively. Use mild cleaning agents with water for cleaning.
TABLE PLATE AND SERVICE DEVICES NOT FROM CERAMIC
Our pop glasses are dishwasher safe.
For items with a clear, colored or metallic glaze: Dust with a soft, dry cloth and wash by hand or only clean selectively. Use mild cleaning agents with water for cleaning.
Pieces with metallic accents, like our Newport or malachite glassware, should be washed only by hand.
See below for the care of serving dishes made of marble, stone and brass.
BRASS (GUT/SPEED)
Each prototype begins its journey in our studio in Soho, where Jonathan and his team design the original model in clay and hand-mold it before making it from solid brass or cast brass. Because of its handmade nature, there will be slight variations and imperfections-we think it will increase the appeal.

DECORATIVE OBJECTS
Over time, the polished brass develops a rich natural patina.
If necessary, use a microfiber cloth to polish out fingerprints.
If you do not have patience with patina, use a brass polish. Do not use brass polishes on blackened pieces of bronze, as this would damage the surface.

FOOD REAL PIECES
Avoid contact with acidic foods.
Rinse or wash immediately after use.
Only hand wash with mild soap. Do not use brass polish, abrasives or scouring pads. To avoid stains, dry immediately with a soft cloth.
Do not use in the microwave.
To extend the life of your parts, use a protective cloth or padding when storing or stacking.
