The striking ceramic vase "Kandti" by Milanese designer Elena Salmistraro for the Italian heritage label Bosa shows the face of a golden monkey. It is part of the "Primates" ceramic series by Bosa and has become a kind of emblem for the manufacturer. According to the artist, the vases are a contemporary reinterpretation of ancient Roman ceramics, known for their animistic character.
KANDTI is an exquisite vase sculpture that draws all eyes with its rich metallic finish, striking shape, and colorful textures.
All Bosa objects are made from the finest ceramics and are 100% handcrafted using elaborate techniques.

A sophisticated ceramic collection designed to recall the delicate relationship between humans and monkeys. The monkey is the animal most similar to humans: in body shape, appearance, and movement—a fascination with similarity that makes it unique and inspired this project.
The vases from the Primates collection, handcrafted from the finest ceramics, capture the soul of these wonderful creatures through their details and colorful textures, aiming to bring this animal back into our daily environment to enchant us with its life energy.
Product designer and artist Elena Salmistraro lives and works in Milan. After graduating from the University of Milan in 2008, she founded her own studio together with architect Angelo Stoli in 2009, where she has since worked on architecture and design projects. Elena Salmistraro works for leading companies, including Apple, Disney, Ikea, Vitra, Moooi, Alessi, Lavazza, Nike, Bosa, Seletti, and De Castelli.
Bosa has stood for handcrafted Italian ceramics at the highest level since 1976. In the heart of Bassano del Grappa, where the tradition of ceramic art has thrived for centuries, extraordinary pieces are created — each one crafted and painted by Hand. Bosa combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design and collaborates with visionary designers such as Jaime Hayon, Nika Zupanc, and Elena Salmistraro. The result: works of art that transform your home into a gallery.
